Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology is seeking a Systems Administrator SME in Reston, VA. You will advance customer operations by designing infrastructure changes, managing VMware environments, and administering Windows and Linux systems.

The role requires 10+ years of experience, PowerShell/Bash scripting, and 8570-compliant security credentials (IAT Level 2 preferred). A Bachelor’s degree and US citizenship are required, with TS/SCI + CI Poly as a condition.

Qualifications

• Ability to write scripts using PowerShell and/or Bash.
• Experience managing VMware, Nutanix, and other enterprise virtual infrastructures.
• Proficient in managing and troubleshooting Active Directory and Group Policy Objects (GPO).
• At least 10 years of relevant experience.
• Security+ certified; must presently be 8570 compliant (IAT Level 2 preferred).
• US citizenship required; TS/SCI with CI Poly.

Responsibilities

• Plans, designs, and implements infrastructure changes and system upgrades.
• Manages and troubleshoots multiple VMware environments.
• Provides Windows Server and Linux administration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Creates STIG compliant images for Windows Desktop, Windows Server, and Linux OS.
• Creates, tests, and deploys software packages using SCCM, PDQ, etc.
• Provides expert level support and mentoring for Mid and Junior Systems Administrator personnel.
• Develops and maintains installation and configuration procedures for system and software changes.
• Utilizes scripting to automate common tasks.
• Performs hardware maintenance/repair activities.
• Ensures proper planning and execution of major projects/maintenance activities.
• Provides advanced level administration and troubleshooting of Active Directory, GPO, DNS, DHCP, and Domain Controllers.
