Job summary

Deerfield Academy seeks a Systems Administrator to manage and secure the Academy’s infrastructure, identity, and cloud environments through automation, IAM, vulnerability and patch management, and the integration of cloud and on-premises systems to ensure reliable technology services.

Responsibilities include administering Windows and Linux servers, implementing patching, scripting automation, Entra ID and MFA, configuring Microsoft 365 services, monitoring, DR planning, and providing Tier 2

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity or related field.
• 5-7 years of enterprise systems and infrastructure experience required.
• Certifications such as Microsoft, VMware, CompTIA Server+/Security+, AZ-104, VCP, CISSP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer on-premises and cloud server infrastructure (Windows and Linux).
• Lead vulnerability and patch management programs and remediation tracking.
• Develop automation using scripting to improve efficiency and reliability.
• Manage identity and access using Entra ID, SSO, MFA, and RBAC.
• Configure and support Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive).
• Collaborate on DNS, DHCP, certificates, and authentication systems.
• Monitor performance, availability, capacity, and security with tooling.
• Assist in incident response, eDiscovery, and security investigations.
