Job summary

NVIDIA is seeking a Senior System Software Engineer to develop and improve system software for next-generation O-RAN infrastructure, spanning SoC architecture, cellular systems, firmware, and operating systems.

You’ll collaborate with hardware, platform, networking, and cellular-software teams from pre-silicon through deployment, focusing on 5G/6G workloads, power/performance, and interfaces connecting RUs and DUs.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in CS, CE, EE, or equivalent experience.
5+ years of system software, embedded software, or performance engineering.
Experience debugging software for complex SoCs or embedded platforms.
Strong C/C++ skills and Python or scripting language.
Understanding of multicore systems, memory hierarchies, and DMA.
Experience with Linux kernel internals, device drivers, and real-time programming.
Knowledge of DVFS, power gating, and thermal management.
Familiarity with 5G/6G interfaces and O-RAN Open Fronthaul.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and optimize system software and firmware for O-RAN SoCs.
Develop power-management policies and performance optimizations across subsystems.
Analyze RU and DU workloads to identify bottlenecks in compute, memory, and latency.
Develop and tune DVFS, clock/power gating, and idle-state management.
Create models, tools, benchmarks, and automated test infrastructure for pre/post-silicon.
Use simulation, emulation, prototyping, and production silicon to validate decisions.
Evaluate system behavior against O-RAN requirements like timing and reliability.
Influence future SoC and cellular-software architectures based on workload data.
