Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a System Safety Engineer to lead safety analyses for space vehicles and in-space systems. You will work with systems engineers to verify compliance with safety and reliability requirements and to identify design improvements that reduce risk to people and property.

You will mentor other engineers, coordinate safety artifacts across programs, and support verification activities to ensure mission success as we extend human presence beyond Earth.

Qualifications

• Experience performing safety analyses on safety critical systems (FTA, PHA, FHA, FMECA)
• Ability to lead and coordinate safety analysis across stakeholders
• Strong safety and mission assurance fundamentals

Responsibilities

• Perform and lead safety analyses including FTA, PHA, FHA, FMECA and risk mitigation
• Develop plans and coordinate system safety analyses across subsystems
• Ensure traceability between functions, requirements, and safety artifacts
• Support verification and validation of safety and reliability requirements
• Mentor engineers and share best practices across programs
