Job summary

Bowman Williams is seeking an experienced MSP Project Engineer or Systems Engineer for a Riverside, CA hybrid role. You will lead infrastructure deployments and own projects from planning through implementation, serving as the technical lead during client deployments and upgrades.

The role focuses on Windows Server, Microsoft 365, Azure, virtualization, networking, and security enhancements across onsite and remote engagements, with a hybrid work model and growth opportunities toward Senior

Qualifications

• 5+ years in MSP project or systems engineering.
• Strong Windows Server, M365, and infra deployment experience.
• Hands-on VMware and/or Hyper-V virtualization.
• Solid networking: firewalls, VPNs, switching.
• Willing to lead onsite projects across Southern California.
• PowerShell, MS certifications, or Cisco certifications are a plus.
• Familiar with Autotask, Datto RMM/BCDR, IT Glue, BrightGauge, or Hudu.

Responsibilities

• Lead infra projects: relocations, server deployments, rack installs, onboarding, and tech refreshes.
• Execute project plans, migrations, cutovers, and implementations remotely or onsite.
• Deploy and support Microsoft 365, Azure, Windows Server, virtualization, networking, and endpoints.
• Configure and troubleshoot VMware/Hyper-V, firewalls, VPNs, wireless, and switching.
• Identify opportunities to modernize and harden client environments.
• Maintain detailed project docs and report progress to clients and teams.
• Deliver excellent client service partnering with PMs, Architects, and leadership.

Are you an MSP Project Engineer or Systems Engineer who enjoys building, deploying, and modernizing IT environments instead of spending your day working through a ticket queue?

We're partnering with a growing Cloud and Managed Services Provider that's helping small and mid-sized businesses modernize their infrastructure through cloud solutions, virtualization, networking, and Microsoft technologies. Their engineering team plays a critical role in designing and implementing projects that improve security, performance, and long-term scalability for clients throughout the Riverside/ La Verne Area.

This opportunity is perfect for an engineer who enjoys leading infrastructure deployments, and owning projects from planning through implementation. You'll work alongside Project Managers and Senior Engineers while serving as the technical lead during client deployments and infrastructure upgrades.

What You'll Be Doing

• Lead infrastructure projects including office relocations, server deployments, rack-and-stack installations, client onboarding, and technology refreshes.
• Execute project plans, migrations, cutovers, and infrastructure implementations both remotely and onsite.
• Deploy and support Microsoft 365, Azure, Windows Server, virtualization, networking, and endpoint solutions.
• Configure and troubleshoot VMware, Hyper‑V, firewalls, VPNs, wireless infrastructure, and switching.
• Identify opportunities to improve client environments through modernization, security enhancements, and infrastructure upgrades.

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of MSP Project Engineering or Systems Engineering experience.
• Strong Windows Server, Microsoft 365, and infrastructure deployment experience.
• Hands‑on experience with VMware and/or Hyper‑V virtualization.
• Strong networking knowledge including firewalls, VPNs, switching, wireless, and routing.
• Comfortable leading onsite client projects throughout the Southern California area.
• Experience with PowerShell, Microsoft certifications, or Cisco certifications is a plus.
• Experience with Autotask, Datto RMM/BCDR, IT Glue, BrightGauge, or Hudu is highly preferred.
