Job summary

WOOD Federal Solutions, Inc. is seeking a System Administrator (Mid or Senior) to support a large, mission-critical network with distributed systems and multiple isolated domains.

This role emphasizes maintaining Windows servers, Active Directory, virtualization, storage, security tools, and air-gapped systems. The ideal candidate will be technically strong, adaptable, and able to communicate clearly with engineers, developers, testers, users, and program leadership while supporting daily

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical field with at least 8 years of relevant experience.
• Experience as systems administrator supporting end users and technical staff.
• Proficient with Windows Server 2019 and Active Directory.
• Experience with software/hardware deployment, patches, OS, backup and restore.
• Familiar with SALT, Ansible, Splunk, Puppet, SolarWinds, Nessus.
• Experience with Red Hat and VMWare.
• Strong information security knowledge and virtualization experience.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and travel occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Install applications and administer systems to ensure continuous operation.
• Optimize server and desktop configurations for reliability and performance.
• Manage security and performance improvements across environments.
• Maintain documentation for complex server/network environments for incident resolution.
• Coordinate with users and support personnel during outages and upgrades, and advise leadership on resolutions.
