Job summary

WOOD Federal Solutions is seeking a System Administrator—Linux/Windows & Security (Mid or Senior) to support a large, distributed network environment in Annapolis Junction, MD. The role covers Linux and Windows administration, system hardening, and operational problem‑solving in high‑assurance settings.

You will collaborate with technical teams, manage patching and hardening, and contribute to accreditation activities while traveling locally and CONUS/OCONUS as needed. U.S.

Qualifications

• Must have substantial experience as a systems administrator supporting large groups of users and technical staff.
• At least 5 years hands‑on Linux and Microsoft server/workstation experience.
• Experience with OS and application hardening in high‑assurance environments.
• Experience with deployment, patch management, backup and restore functions.
• Proficient with Windows Server 2016/2019 and Active Directory.
• Ability to travel locally and occasionally CONUS/OCONUS.

Responsibilities

• Install applications, administer systems and processes, and resolve issues promptly.
• Optimize server and desktop configurations for reliable operations and security.
• Perform security management and application performance optimization.
• Support complex server enclaves, patching, cert renewals, and AD configurations.
• Create and maintain documentation for incident resolution.
• Communicate outages and upgrades with users and management.
