Job summary

Parsons is seeking a highly skilled Systems Administrator to join our Federal Solutions team in Boulder. The role focuses on onsite Tier I support across Linux, Windows, virtualization, and AD environments, with duties spanning maintenance, monitoring, and vendor coordination.

The position requires an active DoD security clearance (TS/SCI eligibility), Security+ or equivalent, and extensive experience in government-grade IT operations.

Qualifications

• Active DoD security clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI.
• 12+ years of experience, with education/certifications counting toward totals.
• Bachelor's degree or higher, with relevant experience
• Current Security+ or IAT Level II/III certification
• Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Windows administration.

Responsibilities

• Provide Onsite Tier I systems, hardware, application, and storage administration in a Red Hat environment with Active Directory.
• Monitor systems for anomalies and escalate as needed.
• Troubleshoot system issues and coordinate with vendors.
• Assist with onboarding, account creation, password resets, and software updates.
• Provide IT and Audio-Visual support for lab events and demonstrations.
• Maintain and operate computer systems and virtualization hardware/software.
• Implement hardware/software solutions to meet system requirements.
• Generate and review cyber reports (manual and automated).
• Assist in system installation, verification, and checkout.

Job Description:

Parsons is looking for a sharp Systems Administrator to join our growing team!

Work Shift:

• Sunday – Thursday 9 AM – 5 PM Mountain Time
• Required to work Federal Holidays with OT (if this does not fall withinyour normal work schedule) Mountain Time

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Provide Onsite Tier I systems, hardware, application, and storage administration support in a primarily Red Hat environment with Active Directory.
• Monitor system for anomalies or issues requiring attention or escalation.
• Perform initial troubleshooting of system issues.
• Augment current Tier 1 support by facilitating vendor onboarding, account creation, password resets, and software updates.
• Provide IT and Audio-Visual support for classified and unclassified lab events, demonstrations, meetings, and symposiums.
• Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, and virtualization-based hardware and software.
• Implement technical hardware and software solution to meet system requirements.
• Generate, review, and analyze manual and automated cyber reports.
• Assist in system and equipment installation, verification, and check-out.

What Required Skills You’ll Bring:

• Active Secret DoD Security Clearance with ability to obtain and/or maintain a TS/SCI
• 12+ years of experience, with additional education, training, and certifications able to count towards total years of experience
• Bachelors degree, with additional years of experience able to count in lieu of a degree. Additional flexibility pending Customer approval.
• Current Security+ Certification or equivalent IAT Level II or III certification
• Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux and the Microsoft Windows operating systems administration.
• Experience with administration and troubleshooting of virtualized and bare metal platforms (Virtual Machines, Containers, Other).
• Experience with Windows Active Directory domains and Windows server administration.
• Familiar with VMware vSphere/ESXi.
• Experience with adding, removing, and updating Red Hat RPMs.
• Understanding of network fundamentals (IP, Ethernet).
• Experience with virtualized operating system concepts and administration.
• Working knowledge of security assessment/compliance products (HBSS, ACAS, OpenSCAP, ePO, SCC).
• Must be able to work in a production/operational environment.
• Strong troubleshooting skills.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.

What Desired Skills You Might Bring:

• Two or Four year Degree in IT discipline preferred.
• Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)
• Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate Certification (MCSA)
• Experience with audio/visual systems.
• Experience with KVMoIP systems.
• Experience with working with a Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tool to monitor system alerts (Elastic preferred).
• Working knowledge of the following technologies or equivalent: Linux, Docker, Kubernetes, Kickstart, DHCP, Ansible, SDN, RPM.
• Working knowledge of automation tools (Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Other)
• Experience within an Agile framework environment.
• Working knowledge of security assessment/compliance products (HBSS, ACAS, OpenSCAP, ePO, SCC, STIGs, STIG Viewer).
• Experience with system automation and configuration management.
• Experience with JIRA, DI2E, and Confluence.
• Working knowledge of complete hardware stack: rack, power, compute (CPU and GPU), storage (NAS, SAN, Scale-out, and Object), network (switches, routers, load balancers, and firewalls), workstation, and display.
• Intermediate knowledge of RHEL administration (RHEL 8 and above).
• Management of virtualization, cloud, and container technology (VMware workstation/vSphere/vCenter/ESXi, AWS EC2/S3/Glacier, Docker/Kubernetes/OpenShift).
• Fluent in one or more of the following scripting areas: Shell, Python or Perl.

Salary Range:

$112,200.00 - $196,400.00
