Job summary

Parsons is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Admin Services Lead to join our Federal Solutions team in Reston, VA. You will own the administrative services portfolio, drive architecture roadmaps, and lead development for admin experiences used by administrators, operations personnel, and regional teams.

You will guide integration of peripherals and middleware, manage vendor engagements, and ensure secure, scalable control-plane solutions across multiple environments.

Qualifications

• TS/SCI clearance required.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or 4 additional years of experience in lieu of degree.
• 15+ years of software engineering experience with at least 4 years leading a major service or functional domain.
• Experience with Java-based backend microservices and modern web-based administrative interfaces.
• Strong experience designing and delivering administrative/control-plane services for complex distributed systems.
• Experience with user and role management, secure access-control services, lifecycle orchestration, or peripheral/device management platforms.

Responsibilities

Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Software Engineer, Admin Services Lead to join our team!

What You'll Be Doing:

• Owning the administrative services portfolio, including control-plane services, admin interfaces, user/role management, authentication/authorization, lifecycle management, and peripheral/middleware services
• Defining and maintaining architecture and delivery roadmaps for administrative capabilities across multiple deployment types and environments
• Leading development and sustainment of administrative experiences for system administrators, operations personnel, field/support teams, regional managers, and role-specific users
• Overseeing integration and lifecycle management of peripherals and middleware-including drivers, SDKs, vendor APIs, and compatibility planning
• Serving as the technical lead for vendor engagement, certification processes, and introduction of new peripherals or middleware while ensuring reliable installation, upgrade, rollback, and support operations

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

• TS/SCI minimum clearance required.
• Bachelor's degree in a technical field (or 4 additional years of experience in lieu of degree)
• 15+ years of software engineering experience with at least 4 years leading a major service or functional domain
• Experience with Java-based backend microservices and modern web-based administrative interfaces
• Strong experience designing and delivering administrative/control-plane services for complex distributed systems
• Experience with user and role management, secure access-control services, lifecycle orchestration, or peripheral/device management platforms
• Strong ability to troubleshoot issues across administration, authentication, user access, device integration, compatibility, and platform management workflows

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

• Active Polygraph a plus
• Experience with the Elastic Stack, including Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana, and/or the LGTM Stack, including Loki, Grafana, Tempo, and Mimir
• Familiarity with HashiCorp technologies, including Nomad, Consul, Vault, and Terraform, in clustered and distributed environments
• Experience working in Linux-based distributed environments and with modern operational tooling for control-plane services
• Experience designing, integrating, and troubleshooting RESTful APIs in highly available distributed environments
• Experience conducting compatibility testing for versioned drivers and SDKs
• Familiarity with release engineering practices for device integration components
• Experience applying secure design principles to administrative workflows

Security Clearance Requirement:

• An active Top Secret SCI security clearance is required for this position.

Salary Range: $176,900.00 - $332,400.00
