Job summary

Westerra Credit Union in Denver seeks a Senior Software Engineer to serve as the technical expert for the Symitar core banking platform. You will architect, develop, maintain, and optimize Symitar solutions supporting core operations.

The role partners with business, operations, and technology teams to automate processes, improve efficiency, and maximize value from Symitar investments. You will design and implement custom Symitar solutions, ensure stability, security, and performance, and

Qualifications

• 8+ years of Symitar development experience.
• Expert-level experience with Symitar components: Symitar programming, LetterFiles, Batch processing, Job Files, Event-driven processing, Symitar Quest, SymXchange, Episys/Symitar DB.
• Experience integrating Symitar with digital banking, payment systems, lending platforms, imaging, CRM, and third-party apps.
• Experience with SQL, scripting, APIs, web services, and file-based integrations.
• Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent education/experience.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical expert for the Symitar platform, including development and processing support.
• Design, develop, test, implement, and support custom Symitar solutions to improve operations.
• Partner with business owners to automate processes and enhance system capabilities.
• Analyze requirements and translate into scalable Symitar solutions.
• Develop programs, batch jobs, reports, and automation processes.
• Maintain integrations between Symitar and third-party systems using APIs and batch processing.
• Diagnose and resolve complex production issues and lead troubleshooting efforts.
