Job summary

CPG is seeking a Critical Systems Technician IV, Switchgear in Northern Virginia to lead start-up, commissioning, and service of mission-critical power equipment. You will coordinate field operations with project teams, perform troubleshooting, and ensure on-site performance meets specifications.

The role demands 75% travel, strong documentation, safety compliance, and expert knowledge of UPS, switchgear, PLCs, batteries, and test equipment. U.S. citizenship required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electronics or electrical theory, or equivalent work experience.
• 7+ years of field repair / customer service experience with ups, electrical, electro-mechanical or electronics related equipment.
• Three to five years of mission critical product experience.
• Knowledge of Critical Power Systems.
• Ability to read and understand one-line diagrams, blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings.
• US Citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Perform start-up, commissioning, repairs of switchgear and related equipment.
• Coordinate site testing and third-party labor; manage field operations and staffing.
• Develop overall project schedule and monitor milestones and potential impacts.
• Provide regular status reports to the Project Manager and Director, Service Operations.
• Travel up to 75% and support field service management as required.
• Respond to service calls and coordinate turnover documentation with customers.
