Job summary

Ford Motor Company is seeking a Technical Expert (LL6) to lead the technical design, development, and in-house process delivery for Suspension Structural Components.

This role requires delivering an in-house design process, performing engineering and tooling optimization, and leading design for manufacturing and assembly reviews. Travel to global chassis centers is possible; strong DFMEA, PFMEA, GD&T, CAE, and DOE experience is essential to drive launch readiness.

Qualifications

• BS-Engineering required.
• 10 Years of experience in chassis structural design + engineering.
• Extensive experience in suspension structural components design and release, including launch.
• Deep understanding of Build-to-Print Supplier deliverables and PPAP in-house.
• Experience creating and managing DFMEA, PFMEA, SCCAF, Control Plans, and drawings with GD&T.
• Experience with CAE tools, manufacturing simulation, and DOE.

Responsibilities

• Lead in-house design and manufacturing process for suspension components (stampings, castings, forgings).
• Develop and maintain internal engineering foundation documents (design guides, DRs, RQTs, interface contracts).
• Create and manage Level 2 technical materials (Process FMEAs, Control Plans, Safe Launch Plans, Sub-component BOMs).
• Lead DFM and DFA feasibility reviews prior to tool kickoff.
• Drive in-house manufacturing process simulations to optimize structure.
• Lead supplier engagement (BTP) with steel purchase approvals and finish steps.
