Job summary

Surveying And Mapping, LLC (SAM) seeks a Survey Project Manager to lead complex land surveying projects from kickoff to closeout, serving as the liaison between clients and internal teams. You will oversee both field and office operations, mentor staff, and drive proposal development and client relationships.

You will advance toward senior leadership, contributing to infrastructure projects and ensuring quality, budgets, and schedules across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in land surveying with project/team management responsibilities.
• Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
• Proven success managing large-scale survey projects and project teams.
• Strong proficiency with AutoCAD, MicroStation, Geopak, ORD, and MS Office Suite.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to clearly state project assignments/deliverables to team members.
• A collaborative leadership style with a passion for mentorship and team growth.
• Ability to manage competing deadlines, solve problems in real-time, and maintain high-quality standards under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage land surveying projects from kickoff to closeout, delivering high-quality results.
• Act as the primary liaison between clients and internal teams to ensure milestones, budgets, and standards are met.
• Oversee field and office operations, mentor a high-performing team, and contribute to business development through proposals and relationships.
• Develop project management plans, staffing, budgets, schedules, and contracts.
• Sign and seal plats, field notes and control drawings as required.
• Take ownership of team performance and development with potential to advance to Department Manager.
• Provide reporting and updates to leadership on project financial performance.
