Job summary

Surveying And Mapping, LLC (SAM) is seeking a Survey Project Manager to lead complex land surveying projects from kickoff to closeout, interfacing between clients and internal teams, and guiding field and office operations. You will mentor teammates, manage budgets and schedules, and drive business development through proposals and client relations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in land surveying with demonstrated project and/or team management responsibilities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
• Proven success managing large-scale survey projects and project teams.
• Strong proficiency with AutoCAD, MicroStation, Geopak, ORD, and MS Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage land survey projects from start to finish, ensuring quality and compliance with standards.
• Plan and implement procedures to maximize operating efficiency.
• Support infrastructure projects in renewables, energy, and electric utilities.
• Develop and manage proposals, budgets, schedules, billings, and contracts.
• Sign and seal plats, field notes and control drawings as required.
• Establish project management plans and staffing for multiple projects.
• Maintain client relationships and participate in local industry networking.
• Provide support to internal units and report project performance to leadership.
• Aim for advancement into leadership roles such as Department Manager.
