Job summary

Surveying And Mapping, LLC (SAM) seeks a licensed Professional Land Surveyor to lead diverse projects across boundary, transportation, and development. You will review deeds, plats, and legal descriptions, mentor staff, and coordinate office and field teams to ensure quality, schedule, and budget objectives are met.

This role requires strong knowledge of boundary law and proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble, GIS, and LiDAR tools; occasional client development and travel may be involved as

Qualifications

• Active Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license in western states; ability to obtain reciprocal licensure is encouraged.
• Demonstrated experience leading land surveying projects and coordinating office and field teams.
• Strong knowledge of boundary law, survey principles, legal descriptions, plats, and surveying standards.
• Experience with boundary surveys, ALTA/NSPS surveys, topographic surveys, construction staking, or utility surveys.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and experience with Trimble, GIS, LiDAR or reality capture technologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead a variety of land surveying projects from planning through final deliverables; ensure quality, schedule, and budget.
• Review and certify survey documents in accordance with state laws and professional standards.
• Provide technical leadership to office and field staff; foster quality and collaboration.
• Review deeds, plats, title commitments, easements, and legal descriptions to support boundary determinations.
• Oversee preparation and review of surveys including ALTA/NSPS, topographic, boundary, and construction staking deliverables.
• Collaborate with clients, engineers, project managers, and constructors for successful project execution.
