Job summary

Surveying And Mapping, LLC (SAM) in Worcester is seeking a Senior Survey Technician to turn complex survey data into accurate, high-quality deliverables. You will process data, prepare drawings and legal descriptions, and resolve technical challenges across a range of land surveying projects, working closely with the Project Manager and field teams.

Qualifications

• Previous combined field and office surveying experience, including route surveys, boundary analysis, digital terrain modeling, construction layout, and data processing.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D; strong computer and technical skills.
• Proficiency in technical math; knowledge of geometry and trigonometry is a plus.
• Attention to detail and the ability to evaluate survey information and identify discrepancies.
• The ability to communicate effectively with project managers, field crews, and fellow technicians.
• Ability to work onsite at our Worcester office is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process and evaluate field survey data for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements and SAM standards.
• Coordinate with field crews and project leadership to address data gaps, resolve questions, and support efficient fieldwork.
• Prepare survey plats, drawings, legal descriptions, and alignment drawings.
• Review plats, drawings, and other technicians’ deliverables for accuracy and consistency.
• Monitor field production and data quality, communicating issues that could affect project schedules or deliverables.
• Work with the Project Manager to meet client requirements and deliver quality work on schedule.
