Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent is required.
• Surgical Technologist Certification (CST) is required for operators employed after 2013.
• 1–3 years of healthcare experience preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Functions as Surgical Technologist in the Operating Room across stages of surgery.
• Maintains aseptic technique during setup, draping, and procedures.
• Scrubs on cases and assists with instrument organization and counts.
• Prepares instruments, supplies, and equipment for cases.
• Assists surgeon and circulator; manages intraoperative medications and specimens.
• Participates in room turnover and equipment decontamination.
• Contributes to quality improvement, continuing education, and orientation of new staff.
