University of Maryland Medical System Corporation is seeking a Surgical Technologist to assist in the operating room, prepare supplies, and support the surgical team. The role includes responsibilities from instrument setup to patient preparation and maintaining sterile technique throughout procedures.

CPR certification is required, and candidates should have completed a Surgical Technologist program or have equivalent education with 2 years of experience in lieu of formal training.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Surgical Technologist training program is required.
• Education: High School diploma or GED is required.
• Experience: 2 years' experience (in lieu of training program).
• Licensure/Certifications: CPR certification is required.

Responsabilités

• Assists in preparing the operating room and selects surgical instruments and equipment.
• Counts needles, sponges and instruments and ensures proper labeling.
• Performs preoperative patient preparation including draping and positioning.
• Hands instruments to the surgeon and assists with gowning and gloving.
• Prepares supplies for sterilization and maintains sterile technique.
