Job summary

Chesapeake Regional Healthcare seeks a Surgical Technologist to support nursing and surgical services under RN supervision. You will prepare the OR, pass instruments, and maintain sterile technique while ensuring patient safety across ages.

Responsibilities include instrument decontamination, turnover, and collaboration with the nurse manager and circulator to meet patient care needs. Virginia-licensed or eligible Surgical Tech preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum required high school diploma and completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
• Certified in BLS and licensed as Surgical Technologist in Virginia preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the Operating Room by gathering instruments, supplies, and equipment for each procedure.
• Assist in scrub setup and maintain sterile technique throughout operations.
• Support patient positioning and turnover to ensure efficient case flow.
• Decontaminate, clean, and store scopes and cameras per protocol.
• Follow hospital policy on instrument counts and material handling.
• Collaborate with nurse team to meet patient care needs.
