Job summary

The University of Iowa Health Care is seeking a Surgical Technologist II to assist with surgical procedures in the Main Operating Room. Responsibilities include preparing the surgical area, maintaining asepsis, and supporting the surgical team under RN supervision.

Qualified candidates should have vocational training in surgical technology and NBSTSA/NCCT certification; two years of experience preferred. The role offers on-campus work with rotating shifts and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Satisfactory completion of a vocational or military course in surgical technology.
• Two years’ experience as a Surgical Technologist.
• Certification by NBSTSA or NCCT is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare surgical area for patient care and anticipate the needs of the surgical team.
• Assist with surgical procedures and maintain the sterile field.
• Operate and maintain routine and complex equipment, instruments, supplies and implants.
