Job summary
University of Iowa Health Care in Iowa City is seeking a Surgical Technologist to assist with surgical procedures, prepare the operating room, handle instruments, and support the surgical team under the direction of a registered nurse. You will work across multiple teams with rotating 8- to 12-hour shifts, on-campus modality, and on-call coverage; a merit pay plan and shift differentials apply.

Qualifications
- Satisfactory completion of a vocational or military course in surgical technology, or certification as a surgical technologist.
- Strong written communication skills and ability to scrub procedures.
- Experience in operating room patient care is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Prepare surgical area for patient care and anticipate the needs of the surgical team.
- Apply principles of asepsis and monitor for breaks in technique.
- Provide care and handling of equipment, instruments, supplies and implants.
