Job summary

MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City, IA is seeking a Surgical Technologist for a full-time day shift. A $10,000 sign-on bonus is offered.

You will prepare the operating room, instrument cases, and maintain sterile technique under the supervision of the circulating nurse. Minimum requirements include graduation from a surgical technologist program (or an LPN with surgical experience), certification as a surgical technologist, and at least 2 years of experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a surgical technologist program or LPN with surgical experience.
• Certification as a surgical technologist is required.
• LPN license required if graduate of LPN program.
• Must have at least 2 years of experience functioning as a Surgical Tech.

Responsibilities

• Assists the circulating nurse in assessing patient needs and helps implement the plan of care.
• Provides care to surgical patients per OR standards, physician cards, and AORN guidelines.
• Assists in setting up rooms and ensures safe patient transport when needed.
• Prepares pre-operative sites, instruments cases, maintains sterile field, and assists with turnover.
• Manages supplies during cases and in department; maintains knowledge across surgical specialties.
• Meets unit productivity expectations and adheres to policies.
