You will educate patients before procedures, gather essential data, and ensure accurate charging and reimbursement through meticulous scheduling and coordination.

The role requires 1 year of healthcare scheduling/clerical experience with ICD-10 and CPT coding, with 2–3 years preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Associates degree in a related healthcare field is preferred.
• 1 year of healthcare scheduling/clerical experience with ICD-10 and CPT coding is required.
• 2–3 years of scheduling experience in healthcare is preferred.
• Knowledge of health care plan requirements is preferred.
• Other Operating Room experience or data entry experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedules surgeries and high‑level procedures with physician privileges, block times, and staff.
• Educates and prepares patients for preoperative procedures.
• Gathers and records demographic, medical, and financial information for patient care and reimbursement.
• Verifies insurance coverage and obtains preauthorization for preoperative testing.
• Registers patients and collects signatures for medical authorization and financial responsibility.
• Coordinates surgery and procedure schedules with anesthesia and other departments per guidelines.
• Runs daily reports for charge audits and charge capture as required.
