Job summary

I S Group, Inc. is seeking a Civil Engineer to support the Surface Water group in Des Moines, IA. You will design stormwater systems, perform hydrologic analyses, and coordinate environmental permitting as part of our Water Business Unit focused on rural surface water.

You’ll collaborate with internal resources, lead design through construction, and contribute to project scopes while serving as an employee-owner within ISG. PE licensure and 5–10 years’ relevant experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil/environmental engineering or bioproducts and bio-systems engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) licensure is required.
• 5–10 years of experience in the surface water industry.
• Ability to travel to various job sites and ISG office locations.
• Strong communication, organization, analytical and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Stormwater management planning and design for rural surface water projects.
• Hydrologic and hydraulic analyses using modeling software.
• Environmental compliance and permitting support.
• Field inspections and QA/QC during construction.
• Community engagement and coordination with stakeholders.
• Provide design leadership and mentor staff on projects.
