Job summary

ISG is seeking a Water Resources Engineer to join the Rural Surface Water team in Storm Lake, IA. You will develop stormwater plans, analyze hydraulics, and oversee infrastructure projects, collaborating with an employee-owned team.

The role requires a PE license, 5–10 years in surface water, and travel between ISG offices. This position supports the Civil department and offers comprehensive ISG Employee Owner benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil/environmental engineering or related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) licensure, required.
• Experience managing projects in the surface water industry (stormwater, flood control).
• 5-10 years in the surface water field.
• Ability to travel to multiple job sites and ISG offices.
• Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
• Self-directed and able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement stormwater management plans to control runoff and flooding.
• Design and oversee construction of stormwater infrastructure (retention basins, swales, drainage).
• Model using XPSWMM, PCSWMM, Infoworks, HydroCAD, Hec-RAS/Hec-HMS, and related tools.
• Support submittal reviews and change management during construction.
• Coordinate environmental studies, permitting, and technical deliverables.
