Liberty Mutual Surety is seeking a Senior Surety Underwriter to join our Small to Mid Commercial Surety team in Florida. The role requires underwriting complex accounts and managing profitability with agents and brokers.

You will assess financial statements, stay informed on product lines, and mentor junior staff while supporting cross-functional collaboration across the Surety division.

Qualifications

• Proven analytical ability to evaluate and judge underwriting risks within scope of responsibility.
• Proven track record of developing and underwriting profitable Surety business.
• Must demonstrate comprehension of complex technical underwriting issues.
• Ability to define and implement underwriting and administrative processes/workflows.
• Experience with evaluating and managing risk across complex accounts.

Responsabilités

• Underwrite and negotiate accounts to maximize profitability while minimizing risk.
• Manage profitability and retention of an assigned book of business; develop the portfolio with agents and brokers.
• Perform analytical evaluations of financial statements and monitor risk through data.
• Stay abreast of product lines and identify opportunities with agents and brokers.
• Investigate, analyze, and manage underwriting and workflow issues within policy framework.
• Assess changes in business including work program to financial strength criteria and data flow.
• Mentor junior staff as appropriate.
• Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
