Job summary

Munich Re Specialty - North America is recruiting a Senior Claims Specialist - Surety to lead in-house handling of Performance and Payment Bonds. You will direct adjuster and litigation processes, partner with counsel and experts, and drive favorable resolutions while assessing coverage and managing investigations.

You will coordinate with internal and external partners, drive recoveries and risk transfers, and mentor junior team members.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; JD a plus.
• 8+ years of experience handling surety matters.
• Detail-oriented, adaptable, and strategic in decision-making.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% for mediations and meetings.
• Maintain valid adjusters' licenses in states assigned or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Direct all aspects of in-house handling of performance and payment bonds.
• Direct the adjusting and litigation process and coordinate with counsel and experts.
• Evaluate coverage, manage investigations, and communicate with stakeholders.
• Pursue recoveries and risk transfer where warranted.
• Coordinate and manage outside counsel and vendors for optimal outcomes.
• Present high exposure claims to Claims Leadership and stakeholders.
