Job summary

IAT Insurance Group is seeking a Senior Surety Claims Counsel to handle complex surety claims and construction-law matters. This role reports to the VP of Claims Counsel and collaborates with the SVP, Chief Legal Officer.

Hybrid schedule from any IAT Office with potential fully remote arrangements for the ideal candidate. Must have a JD with at least 7 years of relevant experience and be able to travel as needed.

Qualifications

• JD with 7+ years of relevant Surety Claims and/or Construction Law experience.
• Licensed insurance adjuster or ability to obtain insurance adjuster license as needed in assigned regions.
• Ability and willingness to travel as needed.
• Authorized to work in the United States and must not require VISA sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Interact with claimants, owners, and management to resolve complex claims.
• Draft and negotiate documents such as Surety Takeover and Completion Agreements, reports, and exposure analyses.
• Collaborate with underwriters in assigned regions.
• Review work in progress schedules, costs to complete, AR/AP ledgers.
