Job summary

CesiumAstro is seeking a Senior Supplier Quality Manager to lead supplier quality engineering teams across aerospace commodities and processes. You will establish priorities, manage resources, and drive corrective actions while ensuring adherence to QMS, engineering, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related technical field.
• 9+ years of related experience with 2–5 years in leadership/management.
• Strong knowledge of AS9100/ISO 9001 and aerospace supplier requirements.
• Proficiency in root cause analysis and structured problem solving (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone).
• Experience with supplier qualification, PPAP, and AS9102 processes.
• SPC knowledge and quality inspection methods.
• ITAR/EAR and DFARS awareness for aerospace/defense suppliers.
• Leadership, coaching, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Proficiency with MS Office and ERP/MRP systems (Acumatica/SAP).
• Familiarity with QMS, Minitab, and PLM software.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple supplier quality engineering teams and audits across the supply base.
• Set supplier quality priorities and translate objectives into staffing and plans.
• Develop quality leaders and manage performance, coaching, and succession.
• Oversee supplier qualification, risk reviews, site audits, and SCARs.
• Ensure compliance with QMS, customer, regulatory, and contractual requirements.
• Evaluate processes, FAI/AS9102, PPAP, and inspection methods for readiness.
• Review supplier performance via defects, delays, costs, and SCARs.
• Drive containment, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and verification.
• Escalate risks and guide supplier recovery and capability improvement.
• Collaborate with engineering and supply chain on producibility and DFM.
• Monitor supplier capability and develop priorities for critical suppliers.
• Advance supplier quality analytics and continuous improvement.
