Job summary

CesiumAstro is seeking a Senior Supplier Quality Manager to lead supplier quality engineering teams, ensuring aerospace quality across the supply base. You will drive audits, CAPAs, and performance reviews while partnering with engineering and manufacturing to reduce risk and improve supplier capabilities.

This is a senior role requiring deep AS9100/QA expertise, strong leadership, and the ability to travel up to 50% to supplier and manufacturing sites.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related technical field.
Minimum 9 years of related experience with 2–5 years in leadership/management.
Strong knowledge of AS9100/ISO 9001 and aerospace supplier quality.
Proficient in root cause analysis and structured problem-solving (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone).
Experience with supplier qualification, PPAP, and AS9102 processes.
Knowledge of SPC and quality inspection methods.
Familiarity with ITAR/EAR and DFARS requirements.
Leadership skills: coaching, performance management, team development.
Cross-functional collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain.

Responsibilities

Manage multiple supplier quality engineering teams across qualification, development, surveillance, performance, and CAPA.
Set supplier quality priorities and translate objectives into staffing and execution plans.
Develop quality leaders through coaching, performance management, and succession planning.
Oversee supplier qualification, risk assessment, audits, and scorecards for complex aerospace commodities.
Ensure flow-down of requirements and compliance with QMS, regulatory, and contractual needs.
Evaluate processes, FAI/AS9102, PPAP, inspection methods, and documentation for readiness.
Review supplier performance using defect rates, nonconformances, ETD, SCARs, and quality indicators.
Guide containment, root cause, corrective/preventive actions, and verification of effectiveness.
Escalate risks and drive supplier corrective actions and recovery plans.
Partner with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain to address producibility and DFM.
Assess supplier capability and trends to prioritize development for key suppliers.
Advance continuous improvement across supplier quality processes and analytics.
