Job summary

CesiumAstro in the United States seeks a Senior Supplier Quality Manager to lead multiple supplier quality engineering teams across aerospace and defense programs. You will oversee qualification, development, audits, and corrective actions to ensure purchased hardware meets engineering and regulatory requirements.

The role requires deep AS9100 and QMS expertise, cross‑functional collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain, and the ability to travel up to 50% to supplier sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Quality or related field.
• Experience with AS9100/ISO 9001 and aerospace supplier quality requirements.
• Strong problem‑solving and root cause analysis abilities.
• Experience with PPAP and First Article Inspection processes.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple supplier quality engineering teams responsible for supplier qualification, development, surveillance, performance management, and corrective action across the supply base.
• Establish supplier quality priorities, allocate resources, and translate objectives into staffing and execution plans.
• Develop quality leaders and engineering personnel through coaching, performance management and workforce development.
• Oversee supplier qualification, risk assessment, site audits, and approved supplier status across aerospace commodities and processes.
• Ensure supplier requirements are flowed down and met per QMS, engineering, contractual, regulatory needs.
• Evaluate production readiness through PPAP, FAI, inspection methods, and quality documentation.
• Review supplier performance using defects, nonconformances, and on‑time delivery metrics to identify risks and improvements.
• Guide containment and corrective actions for complex supplier nonconformances and SCARs.
