Job summary

ABB Inc. is seeking a Supplier Quality and Development Engineer to lead supplier qualification, PPAP, and quality improvements across the ELSP NAM hub. The role focuses on audits, containment, and corrective actions with cross-functional collaboration to drive supplier performance.

Qualifications include 5+ years in supplier quality, an engineering degree, and Lean Six Sigma expertise. Travel up to 50% and Spanish language skills are a plus; US work authorization is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field.
• Supplier quality experience: 5+ years in supplier quality/quality engineering.
• Lean Six Sigma or ASQ certifications (CQE/CQA) are a plus.
• Knowledge of PPAPs, audits, and structured problem solving (8D/A3/DMAIC).
• Data-driven with KPIs, RCA, and containment experience.
• Up to 50% travel required.
• Spanish language skills a plus; US work authorization required.

Responsibilities

• Lead supplier qualification and assessment activities across the ELSP NAM hub.
• Drive PPAP and product surveillance at supplier sites, and oversee supplier development plans.
• Lead and resolve supplier quality issues, including containment and corrective actions.
• Develop and implement the Supplier Quality Wins integration plan and training at suppliers.
• Monitor supplier performance metrics and utilization of Supplier360 reports across the hub.
• Support system development and cross-functional collaboration with sourcing, operations, and R&D.
