Job summary

Aeva is seeking a seasoned Supplier Quality Engineer to own supplier quality across development, tooling, and industrialization, including product launches. You will implement APQP, PPAP, conduct supplier audits, develop control plans, and drive root-cause corrective actions with manufacturing partners; travel domestically and internationally as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering or related technical discipline.
• 5+ years work experience in manufacturing or quality roles.
• Advanced knowledge of high-volume manufacturing processes and inspection methodologies.
• Expert in automotive quality management standards and processes.
• Proficient applying IATF 16949 core tools including APQP, SPC, MSA, FMEA and PPAP.
• Self-starter managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with root-cause analysis.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Experience with supplier selection, process audits, ISO/IATF/VDA standards, travel willingness.
• Auditor certifications (ISO 9001 / IATF-16949 / VDA6.3) desirable.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Product Development to set new product and process standards for mechanical, optical, and electronic components.
• Develop robust control plans with manufacturing partners to ensure quality and zero defects.
• Implement APQP processes with suppliers from design to PPAP and mass production.
• Perform supplier audits and site inspections to verify automotive quality management compliance.
• Investigate supplier quality issues to determine root cause and drive corrective actions.
• Establish inspection plans and design new test methodologies and gauges.
• Lead improvement initiatives to optimize key process indicators.
• Select and develop suppliers and conduct process audits to industry standards.
