Job summary

ABB is seeking an experienced Supplier Quality Leader to manage on-site and off-site quality of suppliers, drive PPAP readiness, and lead corrective actions across the NAM hub. The role emphasizes collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers to ensure quality across products and services.

Job description

• Manage operational supplier quality on-site and off-site
• Execute supplier qualification and development processes
• Lead Supplier Quality Wins integration, supplier assessments, and corrective and preventive actions
• Manage supplier KPIs
• Maintain and improve the Supplier360 collaboration portal and supplier quality processes across the ELSP NAM hub
• Support development of the Hub Level Audit Plan
• Execute supplier audits with local site teams and product development specialists
• Complete supplier assessments, reporting, and closure of non-conformances
• Drive PPAP requirements and lead or support approval of supplier parts, materials, and project subcontractor services
• Promote early supplier involvement in product development
• Lead product surveillance at supplier manufacturing sites
• Lead and support resolution of quality issues, late deliveries, non-conforming products, and project services
• Support claims cases and drive PPS 8D corrective action rigor
• Develop and drive the Supplier Quality Wins Integration plan
• Implement Quality Wins methodologies and conduct Quality Wins assessments
• Lead supplier Quality Wins training workshops
• Establish and execute Kaizen plans with suppliers
• Coach and lead team members involved in Quality Wins activities
• Maintain supplier quality metrics and drive actions to meet KPI targets
• Ensure utilization of Supplier360 reports for supplier performance monitoring
• Support and develop local quality procedures and practices
• Lead or support Supplier360 system performance, development, and enhancement
• Provide training and ongoing support to internal ABB users and supplier users

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field
• 10+ years’ experience
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in Supplier Quality, Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Quality, or a related role
• Hands-on ownership of supplier issues and corrective actions
• Demonstrated ability to map workflows, eliminate waste, standardize processes, and drive adoption
• Working knowledge of supplier qualification and audits, PPAP (or equivalent readiness processes), and structured problem-solving methods (8D, A3, DMAIC)
• Proven ability to lead containment, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions using KPIs, scorecards, and data
• Ability to interpret technical requirements, drawings, and specifications
• Ability to collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and suppliers
• Ability to travel up to 50%
• Candidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
• Fluent Spanish, written and spoken, is a plus
• Lean Six Sigma or ASQ certifications (CQE/CQA) are a plus
• Lean / Six Sigma experience preferred
• Quality Wins experience is a plus
