Job summary

Johnson & Johnson in Santa Clara, CA, is seeking a Senior Supplier Engineer to design, develop, and validate manufacturing solutions for direct material components and assemblies. This role focuses on scale-up of robust manufacturing processes for long-term production within the Robotics and Digital Solutions franchise.

The position requires 5+ years in a regulated industry, knowledge of GD&T, and experience with supplier management and process improvement.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Engineering or equivalent is required.
• 5+ years of meaningful work experience in a regulated industry (medical device preferred).
• Understanding of manufacturing process characterization, development, and validation.

Responsibilities

• Own and deliver development, characterization, and validation of components and sub-assembly processes at suppliers for NPD and sustaining production.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, R&D, Sourcing, Quality, Supply Chain, Marketing, and Finance to optimize processes for manufacturability and cost.
• Apply engineering principles and Six Sigma, Lean, SPC to resolve technical challenges and improve supplier performance.
• Drive suppliers to improve their manufacturing processes to meet business requirements for supplier excellence.
• Identify priorities and direct external suppliers for tooling, manufacturing, and inspections of direct material components.
• Ensure robust requirements cascade from Design to Suppliers and support CAPAs.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost reduction and efficiency.
