Job summary

Google is seeking a Supplier Development Engineer to enable manufacturing capabilities for high-quality hardware products. You will evaluate designs, establish processes and tools, and partner with component vendors to ensure controlled, repeatable production.

You will collaborate with Commodity Managers and Design Engineers to define requirements and ensure seamless integration of components across products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required or equivalent practical experience.
• 10 years of experience in manufacturing focusing on surface finishing and related processes.
• 8 years of experience in people management.
• Experience with mechanical bonding methods such as riveting, press fits, laser welding, and adhesives.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver Google Hardware products to market.
• Provide detailed design for manufacturing reviews to improve quality, yield, and cost.
• Use SPC and yield studies to validate process capability and drive improvements with the team.
• Serve as the first point of contact for manufacturability issues during engineering builds and support reliability planning.
