Job summary

Shawmut Design and Construction is seeking a Senior Superintendent to lead on-site operations for complex ground-up projects in the Los Angeles area. The role requires a proven track record delivering $25M+ facilities with strong leadership and safety focus.

Ideal candidates will have California DSA project experience and a solid background managing higher-education construction programs, coordinating with PMs to meet schedule and budget goals.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience as a Project Superintendent at a general contractor.
• Proven experience managing ground-up construction projects valued at $25M+.
• Demonstrated DSA (California Department of State Architect) project experience.
• Strong background delivering projects within the higher education sector.

Responsibilities

• Lead all daily field operations to ensure site safety, construction progress, quality control, and a clean site.
• Develop comprehensive understanding of project strategy, commitments, including financial goals, scheduling, and milestones.
• Collaborate with PM to maintain an updated project schedule reflecting changes and meeting cost and time requirements.
• Maintain open dialogue with project team about changes in work, conditions, and subcontractor relations.
• Foster positive relationships by fair treatment of subcontractors and vendors and instill this philosophy in the team.

Responsibilities

We are currently looking for Senior Superintendents to join our team. What separates our Senior Supers is their ability to lead from the front and support their staff with charisma and tenacity. We expect our Senior Supers have true building knowledge and conquer challenges fearlessly.

• Lead all daily field operations to ensure proper site safety, construction, progress, quality control and a clean site
• Develop comprehensive understanding of project strategy and commitments including financial goals, scheduling, logistics, phasing, milestones, inspections
• Work in partnership with PM to maintain an updated and accurate project schedule that reflects the changes in project status and that meets the cost and time requirements of the project
• Demonstrate and maintain effective and open dialogue with the project team regarding changes in work, job conditions, subcontractor relations and any deviation in the direction of the project
• Always promotes positive relationships by dealing expertly and fairly with all subcontractors and vendors while instilling this philosophy in the project team
