Job summary

Colliers Engineering & Design in Orlando, FL is seeking a SUE Technician III to lead field work, map subsurface utilities, and ensure safety and precision on every project across transportation corridors and urban developments.

You will use electromagnetic locating, ground-penetrating radar, GPS, conventional survey, and vacuum excavation to identify utility conflicts, support engineers, and help designers make smarter, safer decisions for renewable energy, oil and gas, and infrastructure

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of utility designating/locating experience.
• Ability to learn new technologies quickly.
• Good reading and written communication skills.
• Comfort working outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Occasional travel and overtime as needed.
• Ability to walk long distances daily and lift up to 80 lbs.
• Clean driving record and valid license.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret utility records, as-built drawings and highway design plans.
• Designate existing utilities using electromagnetic and geophysical technologies.
• Operate vacuum excavation truck and perform test holes.
• Utilize appropriate maintenance of traffic.
• Coordinate survey work with SUE.
• Supervise field crew activities.
• Train junior crew members.
• Represent Colliers in the field and coordinate with utility companies.
