Job summary

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson seeks a seasoned SUE Project Manager to lead subsurface utility investigations for transportation and infrastructure projects. You will manage from proposal through final deliverables, supervising field crews, maintaining client relationships, and ensuring quality per ASCE 38 standards.

This hands-on leadership role offers mentoring, workflow shaping, and collaboration with design partners.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 8-10+ years in Subsurface Utility Engineering or utility mapping.
• Experience managing SUE projects from proposal to closeout.
• Strong working knowledge of ASCE 38 utility quality levels.
• Experience coordinating with design engineers, survey teams, and utility owners.

Responsibilities

• Lead SUE projects end-to-end: scopes, schedules, budgets, and final deliverables.
• Oversee field operations and QA/QC across deliverables.
• Mentor technicians and junior staff.
• Prepare technical reports.
• Develop proposals and client presentations.
• Coordinate with engineers and utility owners throughout the lifecycle.
