Job summary

McKim & Creed is seeking a SUE Technician III to lead a field crew in Utility Location and Subsurface Utility Engineering. You will collect field data, locate features, and ensure timely data delivery to the office while maintaining accurate records and safety compliance.

The role requires 5–10 years in utility location/SUE, proficiency with SUE equipment, GPS and total stations, and the ability to travel overnight as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5–10 years of progressive experience as a utility locator or SUE technician.
• Proficiency with SUE locating equipment, total stations and GPS.
• Ability to interpret maps and records; strong knowledge of underground utilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a SUE field crew to ensure quality, safety, and timely delivery of field data.
• Train crew on field equipment and safety protocols.
• Collaborate with construction crews to ensure safe excavation and installation of utilities.
• Maintain accurate records of utility locations, field data, and expenses.
• Organize field work and oversee data delivery to the office.
