Job summary

RTX is seeking a Principal Subsystem Engineer to lead Integrated Product Teams on missile guidance electronics hardware projects in Tucson, AZ. The role focuses on architecture, requirements development, and cross-functional collaboration with customers and suppliers.

The position requires a strong background in RF/digital hardware, MBSE, and proven leadership in multi-program environments, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience.
Minimum of 8 years' experience with electrical hardware development, subsystems, systems engineering, requirement development and/or requirement validation in antennas, analog RF circuit cards, digital circuit cards.
An advanced degree in a related field may substitute for additional years of experience: Master’s equals 2 years, Ph.D. equals 4 years.

Responsibilities

Lead a cross-functional team of engineers through product development lifecycles.
Architect and develop missile guidance electronics hardware and subsystems.
Develop and document subsystem requirements and test plans; perform peer design reviews.
Mentor and coach team members; collaborate with customers and suppliers.
