Pedernales Electric Cooperative is seeking a Substation Technician to support 24/7 system operations, calibration, commissioning, inspection, and maintenance of transmission and distribution equipment in Johnson City, TX. You will perform switching, testing, and diagnostics to ensure reliable grid performance.

This role requires knowledge of substation protection schemes, electrical theory, and safety practices for high voltage systems.

Qualifikationen

• Associate’s Degree in Electrical Power and Controls or related field.
• Directly related experience may substitute for education.
• Knowledge of substation protection schemes is beneficial.

Aufgaben

• Perform maintenance and inspection on substation equipment according to standards.
• Execute switching orders inside substations to manage power flow.
• Install mobile substations for projects and routine maintenance.
• Perform electrical testing using specialised test sets (Doble, SFRA, hi-pot).
• Coordinate activities with other departments and adhere to safety policies.
