Job summary

Pedernales Electric Cooperative is seeking a skilled Substation Technician to manage 24/7 system operations, calibration, inspection, and repair of transmission and distribution equipment. Responsibilities include switching, equipment testing, and ensuring NERC compliance across substations.

The role requires experience with protective relays, SCADA systems, and field maintenance. Competitive starting base pay with KPI bonuses andBenefits are provided at PEC.

Qualifications

• Requires knowledge of substation maintenance and inspection.
• Familiarity with NERC compliance standards.
• Experience with protective relays and PLC testing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and inspect substation equipment per maintenance standards.
• Perform substation switching under supervision.
• Install mobile substations for projects and emergency restoration.
• Conduct protective relay testing and PLC programming for protection circuits.
