Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Substation Senior Structural Engineer with 5+ years of utility experience to perform design reviews and lead projects. The role includes reviewing steel and concrete structures, foundations, oil containment, and fire walls for substation packages, with site visits to client facilities.

The candidate will mentor junior staff, ensure compliance with codes and schedules, and travel as needed to client sites and industry events. PE licensed; SE preferred.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Civil-Structural Engineering with 5+ years of utility design experience
• PE License required; SE licensure preferred
• Experience reviewing substation structure design, rigid bus design, foundation design, oil containment design, walls and fire-walls
• Experience with seismic loading design and client site visits
• Willingness to travel for client meetings and industry events

Responsibilities

• Lead design reviews of civil/structural components for substation projects
• Develop junior staff and mentor team members
• Perform design checks for structures and foundations to applicable codes
• Coordinate with vendors and clients to support bid/construction packages
• Ensure project scope, schedule and budget compliance
