Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Substation Senior Structural Engineer with 5+ years in the utility industry. You will lead design reviews and mentor junior staff, focusing on steel, concrete structures, foundations, and related subsystems for substation projects.

The role requires conducting site visits, collaborating with clients, and delivering bid/construction packages within schedule and budget. PE license is expected, with SE licensure preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelors of Science (BS) in Civil-Structural Engineering and 5+ years of relevant experience, or Masters (MS) with 3+ years of relevant experience
• PE License required
• SE licensure is preferred
• Experience with STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, RISA 3D, FAD, SAG10, and LPile software, required
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and MicroStation required
• Strong analytical and technical writing skills
• Team player with ability to communicate with clients and staff

Responsibilities

• Lead projects as a senior engineer and perform design reviews
• Develop junior staff members
• Conduct design reviews of civil/structural components for bid/construction packages
• Perform site-visits to client substations and occasional travel
• Ensure compliance with project scope, schedule, and budget
