Job summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineering Technician - Substation P&C Designer to support design and delivery of critical electrical infrastructure. The role emphasizes protection and control schematics, relay panel layouts, and interconnection drawings for substations.

Ideal candidates bring experience in protection/control systems, SCADA integration, and project lifecycle support from concept through construction closeout, with strong attention to detail and collaboration

Qualifications

Typically a minimum of 11 years related work experience.
Experience with substation protection and control systems is desirable.

Responsibilities

Functions as a senior engineering technician, technical design specialist, and/or supervisor.
Applies advanced technical expertise to solve complex design challenges within a specific engineering discipline.
Contributes to the development of innovative engineering solutions.
Uses digital tools and design software (e.g., CAD, BIM, 3D modeling) to create, modify, and maintain technical documentation.
Provides consultation, training, and oversight to other engineering technicians to ensure quality and consistency.
Establishes and communicates appropriate design and graphic standards.
