Job summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineering Technician–Substation P&C Designer to support the design of critical electrical infrastructure. You will develop protection and control schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts alongside multidisciplinary teams.

The role emphasizes advanced design knowledge, attention to detail, and collaboration across engineers, designers, and project teams from concept through construction support.

Qualifications

• Typically a minimum of 11 years related work experience.
• Proficient in protected and control design concepts for substations.
• Experience with CAD/BIM and electrical design tools.

Responsibilities

• Functions as a senior engineering technician and design specialist.
• Apply advanced design methods to solve complex problems.
• Create, modify, and maintain technical drawings using CAD/BIM tools.
• Provide guidance to other technicians to ensure quality and standards.
• Review design inputs and ensure compliance with codes and project requirements.
• Coordinate with other design groups and support field activities as needed.
• Develop and communicate design standards and documentation.
