Job summary

Burns & McDonnell in Florida is seeking a Project Engineer to lead a multi-discipline team in the development of engineered substation designs for the safe and reliable delivery of electricity across the US, Puerto Rico, and Canada.

You will manage design efforts for Design-only and EPC projects, mentor staff, and ensure budgets and schedules are met while presenting proposals to clients and stakeholders in a dynamic energy environment.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Bachelor of Engineering required.
• 7 years of direct project engineering experience in design/program management.
• PE license preferred; strong communication and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a multi-discipline engineering team for substation design.
• Manage engineering design budgets and labor-hour plans.
• Present designs and proposals to clients, permitting authorities, and stakeholders.
• Maintain project schedules and collaborate with project controls.
• Coordinate procurement and field services as needed.
• Mentor team members and drive quality program implementation.
• Prepare and manage change orders with clients.
