Job summary

WSP is seeking a Senior Lead Substation Project Engineer for our Hailey, ID office. The role involves leading design and construction of substations within the Power & Energy Substation Team, with on-site, hybrid, or remote work options depending on location and business needs.

You will provide technical leadership across multi-site projects, manage schedules and budgets, and mentor junior engineers while ensuring QA/QC and compliance with industry standards.

Qualifications

10+ years electrical engineering design experience for power projects
Electrical engineer license (multi-state preferred)
Strong knowledge of codes, standards, and permitting
Experience leading engineers and designers
Proficient with CAD/ETAP/CAPE and related tools

Responsibilities

Lead multi-site due diligence, design, and construction of substations
Manage project schedules, budgets, and deliverables
Provide QA/QC reviews on technical deliverables
Mentor engineers and designers across projects
Coordinate with clients, regulators, and internal teams
Prepare technical reports and presentations
