Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Substation Project Manager to lead greenfield and brownfield substation projects from concept through closeout in Lexington, KY. You will manage budgets, schedules, scope and client relations, coordinating with owners, subcontractors and regulators to deliver safe, high‑quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably electrical.
• 7+ years of utility substation project experience.
• 3+ years of related project management experience.
• PE license or EIT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead greenfield and brownfield substation, switching and collector stations projects from concept through closeout.
• Prepare detailed proposals and lead client presentations; participate in contract negotiations.
• Provide project management covering siting, environmental review, permitting, planning, estimating, coordination, procurement and closeout.
• Develop and monitor schedules, manage scope, and control costs to meet budgets and timelines.
• Oversee internal project financials, including budgeting and cost tracking.
• Forecast resource needs and coordinate staffing with internal teams.
• Ensure compliance with QA/QC guidelines; communicate with clients and stakeholders.
• Manage communications across teams, clients, and subcontractors; report progress and risks.
• Travel to client offices and project sites as needed; balance meetings with project work.
